Children Obesity
Children obesity - obesity in children is on the rise today. Obese children can develop various health problems early in life. Child obesity needs to be dealt with early on. Fat children may find it difficult to participate in sports and other activities. Too much of passive indoor activity like TV watching has led to an epidemic of overweight children.
As moms we need to help our children learn to eat right and excercise right. If obesity is something we ourselves are struggling with, we can involve them in the process as we learn how to choose healthy lifestyles.
Some things we can do:
- Learn nutrition basics ourselves and teach it to our kids.
- Plan healthy meals which are filling and healthy at the same time.
- Educate our kids on the nutrient value and benefits of eating the right foods.
- Encourage our children to excercise self control when tempted to overeat.
- Guide your child to determine appropriate food portions.
- Encourage our children to regularly monitor their weight and take corrective action if required.
- Teach our children to eat in a peaceful environment and to relish each bite.
- Control TV watching, video games and computer game playing time.
- Encourage playing out and getting fresh air.
- Planning regular outdoor activities.
